Kamrah's Bio is Chicago’s first trans masculine belly dancer. They have been dancing since 2001, and have traveled all over the country to teach and perform in multiple styles of belly dance. Kamrah is known for their killer isolations, creativity, and theatrical pieces, and for being a soloist in Chicago’s premiere geeky belly dance and fire troupe, Raks Geek. Kamrah is dedicated to the safe and effective practice of belly dance, and passes their knowledge as a scientist, a martial artist, and massage therapist on to their students.

Amustela's Bio - Amustela prides herself on being a “classic” example of the American Belly Dancer.  She has been a lifelong dancer in many forms of dance, and has been involved in the study and performance of Middle Eastern Dance for over 25 years.  She is considered an expert in American Cabaret Belly Dance.  Her career has taken her from the world of nightclubs, to competitions, to master instructor and historical lecturer of the art.   She has taught at all of the major festivals and events in the eastern United States and is an award winning competition veteran and judge.    She has been sought after for film projects, show productions and dance instruction nationwide.   Part of her journey has been in the production of live, and more recently, virtual shows that have delighted audiences.   As the pandemic made production of live shows impossible, Amustela has focused on developing the format, direction and production of virtual shows that truly showcases the talent of the dancer, and keeps the audience engaged.   She is thrilled to be able to share her expertise to enhance the presentation of your video performances for today’s virtual world.

DUM RAKA TAK:APRIL 10th VIRTUAL 11am- 1 EST

Everyone loves a drum solo workshop! Drum solos are the most exciting part of a belly dancer’s set, and nothing is more exciting than a drum solo done WELL. Use your body to make the music, and learn the techniques on how to construct an amazing, jaw-dropping drum solo. In this workshop, students will learn the structure of a traditional drum solo. We will then learn a short but action-packed drum solo choreographed by Kamrah!

STRANGE AND UNUSUAL:APRIL 8th - 2:30-4:30 VIRTUAL

Do the unexpected! Fuse unusual movements – twitches, creepy isolations and undulations, and screaming fast, explosive hits with belly dance. Learn the foundations of each of these movements and how to incorporate them into your dance. Class includes strength conditioning, an explanation of the theory behind the movements, drills, and a creepy combo. (A note: this can also be a combo only workshop depending on length of time slot)

Beyond Basic Sword APRIL 9, 2022 VIRTUAL

Take your sword work to the next level by learning how to dance with your sword…and with an attitude!  Balancing is NOT the focus of this workshop.  We will be working on other techniques to make your sword performances interesting, dynamic, and bold!  Two short combos are offered to integrate concepts and for further practice of these amazing techniques.

This is a tough workshop and is not appropriate for beginners.  Intermediate to advanced.  Previous sword experience is strongly recommended.
