Mardi Love began belly dancing in San Diego, CA, under the guidance of Yasmina and, soon after, Heather Stants. Mardi was taken with American Tribal Style (ATS), and was at Stants\'92 first class. She went on to dance with Stants for some years in Urban Tribal Dance Company before moving to the Bay Area. There she started messing about with the likes of Rachel Brice, Michelle Campbell, Zoe Jakes and others, and began touring with The Bellydance Superstars and teaching internationally. Those years saw the dawn of a new dance style, dubbed Tribal Fusion, and Mardi had a hand in shaping the aesthetic of Tribal Fusion in its early days. She relocated from Louisville KY to upstate NY last year, where she continues to create dance and adornment.
