Patti is an Entrepreneur, Realtor, Small Business Owner and the Co-Director of Art of the Belly. With a background in Business/Marketing, Accounting and 7 years in the printing industry she has a proven track record of running successful businesses. As the Co-Director of AOTB, Patti has been key in running Marland's Largest Belly Dance Festival for the past 8 years and will be bringing her knowledge and experience to share with attendees of this workshop.

Whether you are a beginner with a long-term goal of making dance your career, a serious hobbyist who would like more performance opportunities or a professional looking to expand your client contacts and/or bring more new students to class...we all find ourselves struggling on the business side of our dance journey. Like all performance art, Belly Dance is a heavily competitive field that will ebb and flow with the current trends. How do you stand out in a sea of dancers? How to overcome those dips in tends? A solid understanding of Marketing & Business is paramount to your success.
As Dancers we focus on the creative aspects of Dance and the many hours spent on techinique, practice and costuming. The business side of dance is often overlooked but is just as important. Belly Dance is a business. Your product? Yourself! Your creativity, experience and professionalism. This workshop will target specific areas in marketing for the Belly Dancer and will give tips on professional business practices that will help you achieve your goals.

Mickey is a Commercial Artist, Illustrator and the Director of Troupe SYN Belly Dance. With a degree in Business/Marketing as well as her background in Advertising & Fine Art, she has combined these talents to create amazing visuals and solid marketing strategies for performing artists. Known for her vintage style flyers, fantasty illustration and her expertise in marketing, Mickey has become one of the most in-demand designers on the East Coast Belly Dance scene.

This class is for everyone! A gentle introduction to middle eastern rhythms. Great for dancers and musicians. Bring your doumbek, frame drum, zills, djembe, bongos, slide whistle, whatever! This is perfect for first-timers.
Carmine is a New York City-based, nationally recognized musician, teacher and performer. Guida is known primarily for teaching the doumbek; however, he also plays several other instruments professionally: oud, cumbus, riq, bass guitar, guitar, and mandolin.
Carmine T. Guida has had hundreds of performances inside and outside of the US. He performs in New York City with Middle East meets Brooklyn fusion band Djinn. Their debut album, "The Middle East Side," was favorably reviewed by The Chronicles. Guida has also performed with New York City-based progressive rock band Pain Hertz. Carmine performs monthly on Long Island with traditional bellydance music band Baharat
