ART OF THE BELLY
Ashley López began dancing while earning her degree in Music for Opera. After working as a professional singer for a year, she moved into dance and fitness. Ashley is a certified yoga, Pilates and fitness instructor with 16 years experience and has created her own teacher training program, Integrated Dance, accredited through the American Council on Exercise. A dedicated and passionate performer, she has toured regularly with Zoe Jakes and Beats Antique, and has also collaborated with Rachel Brice's Datura Project as well as toured with The Vagabond Opera as a singer and dancer. Ashley has directed three dance companies: Trikhala in Champaign, Illinois, Orchid Bellydance in the San Francisco Bay Area and Allegro Dance Company in Portland, Oregon. She has also performed with dance companies such as SF Hula and the Mona Khan Dance Company. Currently, Ashley has immersed herself in not only dance but circus training and is an enthusiastic contortion student. She loves weaving her sense of musicality and flexibility into her unique style of performance.
DALIA CARELLA is a renowned Near/Middle Eastern and world fusion solo artist, choreographer, master teacher, and the Founder/Artistic Director of the Dalia Carella Dance Collective. Ms. Carella has delved deeply in Near Eastern dance and Turkish Romani dance, as well as Flamenco, Indian, Bollywood/Bhangra, Afro-Haitian, Samba, Salsa, Bomba and Plena from Puerto Rico, Tango and Western dance such as jazz and ballet. The dance forms Dalia teachers world-wide are Vintage Oriental, Belly Dance Contemporary, Flamenco Araby, Turkish Romani and Belly Dance Tango Fusion.
Her rich background has lead her to make works utilizing both ethnic and contemporary movement, that are ingrained with a deep spiritual and mystical essence. She is known for her explorations into cultural dance forms, her precise and seamless blending of traditional and modern dance in the theatrical context, and for her dark and sultry cabaret stylings, evocative of the European underground, circa the 1920s and 30s. Ms. Carella’s numerous concerts and teaching tours have led her throughout the US, Canada, England, Puerto Rico, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Mexico, China, Japan, Italy, and Turkey.

POLYNESIAN FUSION - All Levels
Here's a drum solo choreography which blends Hawaiian Hula, Tahitian Dance, and Belly Dance. Through this choreography, we'll learn some Hula and Tahitian technique as well as belly dance, and then we'll put it together in a choreography that applies musicality, rhythms, dance company formations, personal expression and group dynamics all together for a complete, perform-able piece!

RUMBA FLAMENCA ARABE
Rumba Flamenco is a style of Flamenco music and dance with an Afro-Cuban Rumba influence. Years ago, the dance was improvised with prominent hip and shoulder movments, more overtly sensual than other styles of Flamenco dance. This class will focus on Dalia's Dance Concepts blending Flamenco, Arabic Dance (Belly Dance) and Afro-Caribbean. Dalia's unique style of fiery skirt work with Flamenco and Arabic arms technique and hip movements will be presented at this workshop. We will focus on technique and drills to strengthen and open the upper body, enhancing the beauty of this fiery and passionate dance style. SKIRTS REQUIRED. Bring a full style, ankle-length skirt without slits that are no less then 6 yards of fabric and up to 25yds.
